Just to reassure those who were wondering, the beaten path is actually just a mile or so back down the valley, and takes the form of the road into the very heart of the Lake District.

Broadoaks, on the other hand, has quite an enviable location along a road which meanders up the Troutbeck valley, past ancient woodland and grazing sheep in dry stone walled pastures.

Much has been done to maintain the hotel's original features and architecture, from the winding central staircase and oak panelled walls, to the barrel vaulted acoustic ceiling of the music room, complete with Bechstein piano.

The small matter of the accommodation: beautiful rooms and suites, all furnished with a personal touch, each the epitome of country elegance.

Bedrooms

With just 15 individually designed boutique bedrooms all named after trees,
immaculate 5 star attention to detail and a combination of tasteful period styling. The accommodation at this Lake District hotel boasts rooms with hand carved 4 poster beds, making a romantic break at Broadoaks quite an experience.

In every room we offer fresh fruit on arrival, whirlpool spa baths or roll top Victorian baths. Recently introduced from "COWSHED" their range of Organic room amenities. We even give you the big 300ml bottles so you can spoil yourself

Dining

We have an appetite for fine things, and the dining experience at Broadoaks in the recently refurbished Oaks Restaurant is truly special. From a light lunch or afternoon tea to the new range of signature dishes developed by our head chef Taran Baxter, the award winning Michelin recommended kitchen at Broadoaks in the Lake District is passionate about the food we produce and always eager to create a mouth watering experience.
Our menu changes daily so the sample Dinner menu below is a one off. On a Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings the signature dishes are available alongside each evenings house menu (see the sample below) these dishes have been recently added to Windermere’s local recipe book that you will be able to buy from Broadoaks.

Sunday lunch at Broadoaks restaurant is a decadent feast of either 3 or 4 courses. Quality local Lake District meats are served in a traditional way with a selection of market vegetables and roast potatoes silver served to your table. Come and relax for the afternoon with lunch and coffee on the terrace, the perfect way to wind down the week.

At Broadoaks we want everyone to enjoy our fantastic food and fine dining experience so we are always happy to cater for any specific dietary requirements, whether it’s a wheat or nut allergy or maybe there’s something the new trendy diet won’t allow, we will make sure your experience isn’t compromised just because you need something a little different.
