Silver Waward

Dianne and Allan welcome you to Rysdale, a traditional Edwardian Lakeland house, built in 1905 and situated in a superb position in Ambleside that provides spectacular views of the surrounding fells and mountains. The 4 star accommodation provides bed and breakfast accommodation in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Ambleside itself provides a great variety of different attractions and Rysdale is an ideal base from which to start the days activities. A 10 minute stroll takes you to Lake Windermere for a cruise on the Lake and a pleasant walk through the woods brings you easily to Stockghyll waterfalls. Even closer, a 2-3 minute stroll is all that is needed for the many excellent shops, restaurants and bars and the gentle surroundings of the parkland area.

Rysdale is the perfect base for local fell and mountain walks as well as providing easy access for all that Ambleside and the surroundings area has to offer and we feel that our hospitality and personal service will make your stay one to remember.

Most of our spacious bedrooms, which include double, twin and single rooms, offer superb uninterrupted views across to Loughrigg fell, up to Wansfell and even the summit of Fairfield.

All are furnished to a high standard with central heating, en-suite, colour TV,
radio clock alarms, hair-driers and tea and coffee-making facilities.

To compliment the elegant dining room and comfortable bedrooms, Rysdale can also offer a large yet cosy residents lounge where guests can relax whilst sitting in front of the log fire and inglenook fireplace. The lounge provides a collection of magazines, books, novels, maps and guides where guests can plan their next walk or re-live their last walk.
